The United Rugby Championship is a rugby union competition held annually in Ireland, Italy, Scotland, South Africa, and Wales. In each of its constituent countries, the Championship represents the top level of domestic club or franchise rugby. The United Rugby Championship, along with the English Premiership and the French Top 14, is one of Europe's three major professional leagues, with the most successful teams progressing to compete in the highest-level continental club championships, the European Rugby Champions Cup and Challenge Cup.
