Killiney - Whiterock Beach

Tucked away at the north end of Killiney Beach is Whiterock Beach, a little slice of paradise!  A beautiful sandy beach that offers safe bathing and is popular with families for swimming. The area gets its name from the rock aplite, which has a sugary appearance and is white in colour. Cut off from the main strand at high tide it becomes a secluded relaxing retreat.

The beach itself is quite short but generally more comfortable than the main strand at Killiney. The Vico Baths are situated beside the beach and go back for centuries. They boast a place to get changed, a platform from which you can jump into the swirling pools below, and a small bathing spot for those not keen on deep water.

To access the beach, cross the railway footbridge from Vico Rd and descent the steps leading to the beach but be careful as there are a lot of steps, going down is easy but can be a difficult climb back up from the beach.
