Cheap Trick was formed in Rockford, Illinois, in 1973. The original lineup consisted of Robin Zander (vocals, rhythm guitar), Rick Nielsen (lead guitar), Tom Petersson (bass), and Bun E. Carlos (drums). The band gained popularity with their 1977 album "In Color" and achieved major success with their live album "Cheap Trick at Budokan" in 1979, which included hits like "I Want You to Want Me" and "Surrender." Known for their combination of power pop, hard rock, and punk influences, Cheap Trick became known for their energetic live performances and catchy songs. Over the years, Cheap Trick has released numerous albums, maintaining a consistent presence in the rock music scene. Some of their other notable songs include "Dream Police," "The Flame," and "Tonight It's You."
