Ever wondered what really goes on behind the doors of a working chocolate factory? Would you like to discover where Butlers chocolate comes from and how it is made? Then Butlers Chocolate Experience is for you.
Butlers Chocolate was founded by Marion Butler and first opened its doors in Dublin’s Lad Lane in 1932; Marion named her luxurious chocolate creations “Chez Nous Chocolates”. Making these chocolates by hand she went on to establish her own company in the heart of Georgian Dublin. Business kept growing for Marion until 1959 when the company was bought over by Seamus Sorensen from Cork. To this day the company is still owned by Seamus and the Sorensen family.
Butlers was originally only a chocolate factory whereas now it is one of Dublin’s most popular tourist attractions as it has become one of the top “Must Do’s” in Dublin. Located in Dublin 17, the factory is open to give everyone the opportunity to experience the great wonder of where chocolate comes from and how it’s made.
