Roe & Co.

The Thomas Street Distillery, run by the Roe Family was at one time, the largest distillery in Ireland.  Their distillery at Thomas Street in Dublin extended over 17 acres and had an output of two million gallons per annum at its peak. It was located opposite Guinness' St. James' Gate brewery. After the distillery was closed in 1926, some of its buildings were purchased and incorporated into the Guinness Brewery.

Now, decades after the Roe distillery finally closed its gates, Irish whiskey is on the cusp of another golden age. By restoring and re-purposing the iconic Guinness Power House as its distillery, Diageo, producers of Guinness, have established a new distillery, Roe & Co which celebrates the memory of George Roe, a true pioneer who helped build the original golden era of Irish whiskey.

There are two tours you can do, each with different themes. If you’re a cocktail enthusiast and want to develop your skills, The Flavours Workshop is for you. The Cocktail Workshop Experience lasts for 40 minutes. A table will also be reserved for you in the Power House Bar for a further 45 minutes after your experience

If blending whiskies is your thing, you can discover the secrets of the art of blending and enjoy an ‘Old Fashioned Master Class’ in Room 106. The 106 Blending Experience lasts for 40 minutes. A table will also be reserved for you in the Power House Bar for a further 45 minutes after your experience.
