Keane was the best-selling British artist in the UK in 2004. They won two BRIT Awards the following year: Best British Album for 'Hopes and Fears' and British Breakthrough Act as voted upon by Radio 1 listeners.

Snow Patrol, Scissor Sisters, the Killers, and Coldplay were among the new wave of bands that would revolutionise the face of music. Keane were the first to develop a sound centred entirely on keyboards, which intensified the emotional pull of their compositions. The song 'Everybody's Changing' from the album 'Hopes and Fears' became a fan favourite and a top five smash.

'Hopes and Fears' was a breakthrough album for Keane, breaking numerous records in the process. It's one of the biggest selling albums in UK chart history having sold over 2.5 million in the UK in its first year, and a million in the USA powered by their absolutely classic song 'Somewhere Only We Know'. 'Hopes and Fears' has gone 9x platinum in the UK, an incredible feat. Over 10 million copies of the record have been sold globally.
