The Vaughan Bequest of Turner Watercolours

National Gallery of Ireland from January 1st 2012 to January 31st 2013

In January 1900 the Governors and Guardians of the National Gallery of Ireland passed a resolution which they gratefully accepted Henry Vaughan's bequest of 31 Watercolours and drawings by J.M.W. Turner RA. Vaughan was a very wealthy English collector who at the age of 90 passed away in 1899.

Distributed among various public institions were his valuable art collections and drawings and his prized Turner Watercolours were divided between the National Galleries of Dublin, London & Edinburgh.

Visitors can now enjoy this experience at the National Gallery of Ireland until January 31st 2013.
