The best way to travel on Luas, DART, Dublin Bus and Commuter Rail services
A new and cheaper way to travel around Dublin is by using the new leap card. This card is available to use on Dublin bus, Luas, DART and also the Commuter rail services.
With this new leap card you can top up whenever you wish and by any amount with the minimum amount being €5. You can order your leap card online prior to your arrival on www.leapcard.ie or you can purchase one in a number of shops, even in Dublin airport. The prices of leap cards vary between adult and child. An adult leap card is €5 whilst a leap card for a child under the age of 12 is €3. On purchasing your card, you can top up then and there. You can also top up your leap card at all Luas, DART and Commuter rail ticket machines at the ‘Short Hop Zone’
Leap cards are a quicker way of travelling, as you are able to avoid all the hectic queues at various stops and stations. Also you don’t have to worry about having to have the correct change, which is a big advantage.
