It has been four years since The Moscow State Opera brought their production of CARMEN to Dublin and the response was so overwhelming that a return was inevitable.
Sung in French with English subtitles, this traditional staging is directed by George Isaakyan, one of Russia’s foremost Directors and multi-winner of the country’s most prestigious award, The Golden Mask.The sets have been designed in association with The Picasso Foundation, which together with the costumes and Bizet’s wonderful score, guarantees an authentic Spanish feel to the whole performance.Celine Byrne, Ireland’s own international soprano will be starring in the role of Michaela every evening, and the Orchestra of The Moscow State Opera will accompany the soloists, a magnificent chorus, and the children’s choir provided by The Junior Musicals Theatre School of Bray.CARMEN — a real treat for opera lovers and those who are new to this magnificent art form.

Award-winning actor Shane Richie is now set to star alongside Laura Whitmore ( playing the role of Cleo Morey) in selected performances only, sharing the role of Detective Superintendent Roy Grace with another multi award winning actor, Bill Ward, who recently left ITV’s Emmerdale in an explosive exit.
Richie will be performing the role of DS Roy Grace in four shows only across Friday 21 and Saturday 22 April, with Ward appearing in all other performances from 18 to 20 April inclusive.

Following its record-breaking run at the Lyric Theatre Belfast in 2016, this reimagined production of Willy Russell’s award-winning comedy, Educating Rita embarks on a tour of Ireland in 2017 with its original cast of Michael James Ford and Kerri Quinn, from the 21st - 25th March 2017 in the Gaiety Theater.

Educating Rita is a stage comedy by British playwright Willy Russell. The plays follows the relationship between a 26-year- old working class hairdresser and Frank, a middle-aged university lecturer. Rita a no-nonsense hairdresser from the working-class streets of Belfast is tired of her job, her prospects, her husband, her life.  She wants to be the sort of woman who knows the difference between Shaw’s Bridge and George Bernard Shaw, and so enrolls in an Open Learning course in English

Literature where she meets her tutor Frank - a lecturer from North Down who teaches at Queen’s - and begins her journey of self-discovery.
The play deals with the concept of freedom, change, England's class system, the shortcomings of institutional education, and the nature of self-development and of personal relationships.

The Watchmaker

This ballet is unique in the way that it brings street dance into the theatre and gives it a central focus. 
It unites professional dancers of various styles (classical ballet, modern dance, hip hop, popping, break dance and krump), nationalities and cultures (Ireland, Latvia, Lithuania, Russia, Brasil, Argentina, France, Italy, Australia, Turkey, Poland, South Africa). ErnBotTik who performs the part of the Watchmaker dances in the popping style. He is one of the few professionals who dance and teach popping in Ireland.
'The Watchmaker' presents the reality of people living in a busy modern city. Lost amidst the hustle and bustle of routine, precious moments of life slip by unappreciated.  By means of dance we see family disputes, children neglected, self-criticism and addiction. The main character is a watchmaker. He is aware of every moment.
The ballet touches upon a universal issue: that of happiness, of self-actualisation and well-being available to us every day.

The symbol of Russian humour, Russia’s foremost satirist – Mikhail Zhvanetsky will come to Dublin on 10th May 2017 to give a long-awaited show at the Olympia Theatre.
The one-off performance will see Zhvanetskiy hitting Dublin with his signature well-worn leather briefcase filled with jokes and observations – and it will be delivered entirely in Russian. Funny Girl
