Constance Markievicz was born into the world at a time when women had limited options and rights. Despite that, she went on to live a life which shaped a nation, and a new world. Constance grew up at Lissadell House in Sligo, where her father was the definition of a good landlord. During her lifetime Constance helped to found nationalist movements, fought for the republic, and served in government as a cabinet minister. She was and still is a hero for the women of Ireland.
An exhibition and lecture of her amazing life will take place in The Little Museum and tickets are €15
